When starting on a steep incline or slippery surface Hill-Start Assist Control detects if 4Runner is rolling backwards and gently applies the brakes to give the driver time to engage the accelerator.

Off-Road Ready
The 5-passenger 4Runner TRD Off Road features a rugged part-time 4-wheel drive system, locking rear differential, Kinetic Suspension System with coil springs, skid-plates, multi-terrain ABS, and more. There are also aesthetic additions including, with TRD Off Road badging on the floor mats and C-pillar, along with a TRD shift knob. 4Runner is ready for your off-road adventures.
Standard on 4Runner SR5, and available on most models, 4Runner's Blind Spot Monitor (BSM) alerts you to the presence of vehicles that have entered your blind spot on either side. Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) helps you back-up more confidently, warning you of approaching vehicles that may cross your path.
